Body of a 50-year-old woman was pulled out of beach water behind the Merihaan mooring in the Helsinki neighbourhood of Hakaniemi on Tuesday.

It is still not known how the body ended up in the water.

The rescued department was called to the scene before 6 am on Monday by a passer-by who no-ticed a human figure in the sea.

The police are investigating the incident.
