Finnish postal and logistic service provider Itella has said handling of Netposti will not be outsourced to India or any other location outside Finland.

Itella corrected media reports on Sunday which stated that Netposti clients’ saved details such as addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses will be handled from other locations like India.

“Itella's Netposti processing of personal data will not be transferred to India or elsewhere outside Finland,” said Petri Aaltonen from Itella.

The report was run in finnish language news outlets Tietoviikko, Markkinointi & Mainonta and Kaleva on Sunday.

Kaleva had reported that Itella was looking to outsource processing of Netposti's personal data to IBM outside Finland.

From the beginning of next month Netposti clients saved details like addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses will be handled in other locations such as India, said the Kaleva report

Netposti is an alternative for mailboxes in which letters are delivered to clients electronically.

Netposti enables clients to receive invoices, pay slips and letters from authorities.
