Stora Enso is going to sell its Uetersen Papermill to a company owned by the trust fund PerusaPartners2.

Sources said the sale, however, will not gain profit for Stora Enso, as it will incur a 30 million euro one-time loss through the sale.

Meanwhile, the planned sale of another Stora Enso plant in Germany to the Austrian specialty paper manufacturer Brigl & Bergmeister will not be successful as the German bidding authority is going to impose restriction on the transaction.

Selling the Uetersen Papermill plant will reduce the paper production capacity of Stora Enso by approximately 240,000 tonnes per year.

The Uetersen factory has about 400 employees. It produces specialty paper and coated fine paper.

Stora Enso will continue with the production of specialty paper at its Imatra factory, and coated fine paper at its Oulu factory.
