Small breweries are concerned about the consequences of the new alcohol legislation which will be enforced at the turn of the year.
 
The legislation has taken a more stringent approach on alcohol advertising, limiting the advertising of mild alcoholic products in the social media.
 
The social media is considered one of the most valued advertising avenues for small businesses.
 
Mika Heikkinen, chair of the Finnish Microbreweries’ Association, said the new restrictions could completely block all other advertising avenues for small breweries.
 
Terenpeli CEO Anssi Pyysing said the new restrictions, above everything else, make the process of brand-building difficult.
