Finnish banks will pay 1 billion euros for EU crisis fund set up to tackle future financial crisis in the Eurozone.

According to the government, Nordea’s share in the fund could rise to more than 800 million euros.

In addition to Nordea, two other banks in the country – OP-Pohjola Group and Danske bank – will almost entirely cover the whole country’s contribution.

The EU finance ministers on Tuesday in Brussels reached an agreement on the basis of payment.

The fees will be determined by the size risk concentrations of the banks.

Small banks will receive payment facilities, because they are not considered to pose high risk to the financial system.
