Permits were granted for a total of 8.1 million cubic metres in April to June 2015, which is 28.4 per cent lower than one year ago, according to Statistics Finland's data. 
 
At the same time, 9.8 per cent fewer building projects were started than last year and the constant-price volume of building production remained five per cent lower than one year ago.  
 
In the April to June period, the building permits were granted for a total of 7,700 apartments, which is 14.5 per cent fewer than one year ago as per the data based on statistics on building and dwelling production.

Measured by volume, 24.6 per cent fewer building permits were granted for residential buildings than one year ago, but residential building starts remained at previous year's level.
 
At the same time the volume of ongoing building production decreased by 6.9 per cent from one year back.
