One person was stabbed to death and two other died in separate incidents of fire at different parts of the county on Friday night and Saturday, according to some Finnish language newspapers.

A  man aged about 40 years was killed when unidentified miscreants stabbed him in a high-rise apartment at Peltosaaren area in Riihimäki on Friday night, national Finnish language daily Helsingin Sanomat reported quoting a news agency.

After the incident police rushed to the spot and detained some people for interrogation to collect information, said the report.

The law enforcing agency is still continuing search for the criminals involved in the killing, the report added.

The same newspaper also reported that a man died when a fire broke out in an apartment at Lahti on Saturday evening.

The firefighters rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the fourth floor of the building full-of smoke immediate after the fire.

Other residents of the building, however, managed to escape during the fire.

The fire fighters brought the fire under control immediately, although the apartments still suffered severe smoke damage, said the report.

Another fire took place at Viita street in Tornio at single-storey attached building late Saturday night, Finnish language newspaper Kaleva reported.

 

The fire broke out at about 21 o´clock burnt the building seriously and the inside is completely out of uninhabitable.

 

The fire fighters rushed to the spot and engulfed the fire before just after starting to spread the nearby houses.

 

The reason of the origin of fire could not be known immediately.
