Berner said she wanted to clarify the issue following the Panama Papers revelation.
It was reported in autumn last year that Berner was on the board of a tax haven company. Writing on her blog, the minister explained how she ended up on the board of the Luxembourg-based company in 2012.
The minister said she was named in the Luxembourg-based company courtesy of Swedish company Kährs Holding which she represented as a board member.
“I did not receive any board remuneration from the Luxembourg company,” Berner emphasised.
Berner said she paid taxes in Finland on the board remuneration received from Kährs Holding.
