A 30-year-old man who barricaded himself in his house on Sunday was detained in Pelkosenniemi.
The Lapland police said the siege ended when the police entered the house.
The man who previously fired at police did not resist arrest and was not found in possession of firearms at the time of his arrest.
No one was injured in the operation.
The incident which resulted in the shooting at police will be investigated as attempted murder.
The police received the alarm at around 6:30am on Sunday and surrounded the man’s home.
The man fired in the direction of police and their vehicles.
There was no one else in the house during the siege. The family escaped from the house before the arrival of police.
