Sun, 29 Jun, 2014 12:01:31 AM FTimes Report, June 29 ![]() File Photo Lehtikuva. Consumers' confidence in economy remained unchanged in June, 2014 with the indicator remaining at 8.7 as in May, according to the Statistics Finland.
The consumer confidence indicator received the value of 3.7 in April, but a year ago in June, the indicator was 8.1. The long-term average for the confidence indicator is 12.1.
The data are based on Statistics Finland’s Consumer Survey, for which 1,336 people resident in Finland were interviewed between 2 June and 17 June.
Of the four components of the consumer confidence indicator, expectations concerning own economic situation improved from May to June.
By contrast, views concerning Finland’s economy, Finland's unemployment development and households' saving possibilities remained unchanged or weakened, according to the statistics.
Consumer confidence indicator (CCI). Source: Statistics Finland. In June, consumers thought that the time was more favourable for raising a loan than for saving or buying durable goods. During the time, employed consumers still felt personally somewhat more threatened by unemployment than usual.
In June, 34 per cent of consumers believed that Finland’s economic situation would improve in the coming twelve months, while 25 per cent of them thought that the country’s economy would deteriorate.
In all, 25 per cent of consumers believed in June that their own economy would improve, while 14 per cent of them feared it would worsen over the year.

In June, 56 per cent of consumers regarded the time good for raising a loan. Twelve per cent of households were planning to raise a loan within one year.
The population of the Consumer Survey comprises 4.4 million persons aged 15 to 84 and their 2.6 million households in Finland, the data show.
