The most common form of undeclared work resulting to unpaid taxes involved small-scale home renovations or car repairs. In major works, the taxes are paid conscientiously.
According to the survey, men were more willing to undertake undeclared work than women.
The survey established that 39 per cent of men had purchased undeclared work, while the corresponding percentage of women was only 25 per cent.
Furthermore, high-income earners undertook undeclared work more often than low-income earners.
The survey was conducted by the research company Tietoykkönen in November in which a thousand Finns who have attained the age of 18 were interviewed.
