The news of his release was confirmed by Jukka Haavisto, the prosecutor leading the investigations.
Another suspect in the bribery case, a man who works with a supply company was also released from custody.
Haavisto said there is no investigative reason for continued detention of the police officer and the company employee.
The criminal allegations are related to supply of equipments to a special operations and counter-terrorism unit in the police known as the Bear Group. The suspected police officer was party to the deal which saw the unit receive supplies of various equipments from the company represented by the suspected employee.
The company employee is suspected of giving bribes.
According to Haavisto, the suspicions involve transfer of assets estimated to be in tens of thousands of euros.
The two suspects have both denied the accusations.
