According to the survey, over half of social media Facebook users have poor or very poor knowledge about what information the service has right to use.
The level of ignorance is even higher when it comes to the use of search engine Google.
The survey revealed that only about one in eight users familiarise themselves with the terms and conditions when registering for services online.
Almost a quarter of respondents admitted that usually they do not read the terms and conditions at all.
The survey was carried out by research company Cint through an online poll towards the end of last year.
Cint interviewed a thousand Finns between the ages of 18 and 70. The margin of error was +/-3.
