SPR has estimated that about a million people may be forced to flee Mosul in Iraq due to the fighting.
The besieged Syrian city of Aleppo has at least four million inhabitants. Overall, over 4 million Syrians reside in areas which are inaccessible.
"The need for humanitarian has grown enormously in order to lend effective help, we have de-cided to launch the collection (of donations)," said Finnish Red Cross Director John Ekelund.
SPR described for instance, the situation in Eastern Aleppo as catastrophic despite the ceasefire. The ceasefire is set to continue at least until Friday evening and possibly up to Saturday.
The organisation stated that convoys delivering humanitarian should be allowed to deliver aid without hindrance continually.
