The District Court of Ostrobothnia on Friday fined a police officer on charge of searching infor-mation related to the former head of Helsinki Anti-narcotic unit police chief Jari Aarnio.
The man tried to obtain information on notification of criminal report from the police information system using Aarnio’s name.
The officer, however, was not successful because the notification of the criminal offence was encrypted.
The court found the police officer guilty of breach of official duty, and was handed a ten-day fine which is equivalent to 260 euros of his income.
