The police on Friday noon evacuated one floor of an apartment building situated along Rubiini-kehä 1 area in Vantaa following threats made by a man.
The situation was concluded at about 5:00 p.m. when the man came outside the apartment and gave up himself after talking to the police.
According to police sergeant Henri Baldauf, at first it was unclear whether the man was threaten-ing himself or others. At the end of the operation, Baldauf revealed that the man was actually threatening himself and not others.
The police detained the man but they did not use force.
The police later searched the man's house. Baldauf was not, however, aware if there were weap-ons in the house.
