A total of 11,584 new motor vehicles were registered in November 2013, of which 8,522 were automobiles, marking a decrease in registrations by 4.1 per cent from the

corresponding month of the previous year.

In November, the number of new passenger cars registered was 7,463, which was 3.3 per cent down from the year before, according to the Statistics Finland’s report based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.

The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 38.4 per cent, the data says.

The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands. In the January to November period of 2013, a total of 161,899 vehicles were first registered.

Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 10.9 per cent. The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to November period was 97,527, which is 7.0 per cent down from the year before.

The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to November period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda, the statistics say.
