International credit rating agency Moody’s has affirmed Finland’s triple A (AAA) rating. Triple A rating is the highest possible credit rating.

According to Moody’s, this is not a new rating but an update on an earlier credit analysis.

The rating agency said Finland’s economic outlook looks stable.

Standard & Poor’s, another international credit rating agency, also assigned triple A rating to Finland back in April. The agency, however, lowered Finland’s credit outlook from stable to negative.

Fitch rating for Finland is also AAA .The credit worthiness has impacts on the country’s borrowing costs.

Moody’s pointed out Finland’s strengths mentioning high standards of living, innovative economy, good governance and predictable economic policy.

On the negative side, it mentioned economic restructuring problems and trade deficit.

Moody’s also noted that Finland’s economic growth prospects have seriously deteriorated.
