The Consumer Ombudsman has warned customers of the Estonian company Xellim Oü to be aware of misleading marketing.
According to the ombudsman, the company which sells weight-loss and beauty-care products does not tell consumers what the bindings in the order entail.
Consumer right advisers and the European Consumer Centre have received onerous complaints regarding the company.
The company, for instance, does not tell consumers that an order will continue as a fixed-term contract, unless the order is cancelled within 14 days of the arrival of the trial batch.
The Consumer Ombudsman announced that the company’s marketing is therefore misleading and contrary to the Consumer Protection Act.
The Consumer Ombudsman also noted that instead of correcting its marketing information, the company is marketing new products.
