The walkout was prompted by the company’s statutory negotiations covering 340 employees.
The company has not informed about its personnel reduction target, but announced that it plans to close its customer service points in Oulu, Kuopio and Tampere.
The employees of the closed customer care centres will be offered jobs in Turku, where If will be focusing its activities.
According to the employees, more than 150 workers are in danger of losing jobs. The employees suggest the insurance company is not in a position to dictate employees’ resettlement in Turku in a few weeks.
Timo Vuorinen, executive director of the company, said the workers walkout did not affect the statutory negotiations expected to be completed by end of the year.
