Kotkamills, the leading producer of laminating paper products will initiate about 13 million euros two-phase investment programme to strengthen its position as the leading global supplier of overlaying films for plywood industry, said the company in a press release.
In the first phase, the company is set to invest in a new impregnation production line in its subsidiary, L.P. Pacific Films, in Malaysia.
The new line is expected to start operations by the end of the year 2015.
The company also plans to increase the production capacity of Imprex overlaying films in its mill in Kotka in Southern Finland in the second phase of its programme scheduled for 2016.
According to the company, the new line will also enable the expanding of the Imprex product range.
In total about 90 people work for the Imprex business area in Finland and Malaysia, said the company.
