Banks payment traffic on Monday experienced problems resulting in delayed transfer of some pension payments and salaries to employee accounts.

The payment traffic problems, according to OP Pohjola Group, affected all the banks.

The fault was a result of disorder in the European payment system which started to manifest on Sunday night.

The Federation of Finnish Financial Services later confirmed that the banks had started to make the transfers to customers’ accounts.

OP Pohjola Group and Danske Bank also confirmed that payments had started to be initiated.
