General government debt decreased by EUR 1.3 billion in the third quarter of 2014 and stood at EUR 117.9 billion at the end of the quarter, according to Statistics Finland’s data.
 
The central government debt declined by EUR 1.3 billion, and stood at EUR 105.2 billion during the time.
 
Compared with the respective period of the year before, general government debt has increased by a total of EUR 9.8 billion as per the data derived from statistics on general government debt by quarter. 
 
The stock of bonds issued by central government decreased by EUR 1.2 billion and the stock of short-term loans by EUR 0.2 billion.
 
The stock of short-term debt securities and long-term loans remained almost on level with the previous quarter.
 
The debt of local government, that is, mainly municipalities and joint municipal authorities, grew by EUR 0.1 billion and amounted to EUR 16.4 billion.
