The growth was also attributable to building permits granted for residential buildings and public service buildings.
Measured by volume, more building permits were granted in February to April for terraced houses and residential blocks of flats than last year, which pushed residential building construction to a growth of 12.1 per cent, the data show.
The volume of construction of residential buildings increased in the period by 20.2 per cent and that of other than residential building construction by 13.7 per cent.
Measured by volume, 24.1 per cent more building projects and 27.1 per cent more residential building projects were started than one year earlier.
