The country’s total industrial output adjusted for working days in June this year was 1.4 percentage points lower than that in June 2013 while the output in January-June went down by 4.0 percentage points from that in the corresponding period of 2013.
 
According to the Statistics Finland, seasonally-adjusted output increased in June by 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous month. In May the seasonally-adjusted output was 0.4 percentage points lower than that in April. In April the output fell by 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.

The output diminished in several main industries in June. It decreased most, by 10.8 percentage points, in the electrical and electronics industry. In the food industry, the output went down by 2.1 percentage points. 
 
The largest growth of 6.7 percentage points was recorded in power generation. Also in the chemical industry the output went up by 1.9 percentage points in June, according to the Statistics Finland.

The capacity-utilisation rate in manufacturing was 80.2 per cent in June, or 0.8 percentage points higher than one year earlier. In the forest industry, the capacity-utilisation rate was 81.1 per cent in June, or 1.6 percentage points higher than in June 2013. In the metal industry, the rate was 82.1 per cent in June, which was 1.4 percentage points higher than one year earlier.
 
Revised data for June 2014 will be published on 10 September along with the industrial output data for July 2014.
