Postal deliveries in the central Finland, Pirkanmaa and Satakunta regions will be delayed this weekend due to Friday’s walkout by workers from Jyväskylä and Tampere postal centres.
The protest began on Wednesday at the Jyväskylä postal centre.
This was followed by Friday’s walkout by morning-shift workers in Tampere in solidarity with their Jyväskylä colleagues.
The workers are protesting against the statutory negotiations initiated by the national postal and logistic corporation Itella.
The redundancy need is estimated at up to 50 man-years at the Jyväskylä and Seinäjoki postal centres. The co-determination talks are expected to be concluded at the end of September.
