Prices for old single-family houses in the country fell by an average of 2.1 per cent in the second quarter this year compared to the corresponding period in the last year.
 
The data of the Statistics Finland shows prices went down in Greater Helsinki by 5.5 per cent from the corresponding period last year and in the rest of the country by 1.7 per cent. Compared with the first quarter of 2014, prices of old dwellings in detached houses remained almost unchanged in the whole country.
 
In the whole country, the average price per square metre of old single-family houses was EUR 1,498 in the second quarter of 2014. In Greater Helsinki, the average price per square metre of detached houses was EUR 2,727. In the rest of the country, the average price per square metre was EUR 1,409.

In the second quarter of 2014, prices of detached house plots increased in the whole country by 7.5 per cent compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Compared with the previous quarter, prices of plots rose by 5.7 per cent. The average price per square metre for a single-family house plot was EUR 23.2 in the whole country and the average plot size was 2,246 square metres.
 
In the second quarter of 2014, prices for new single-family houses rose by an average of 0.7 per cent from the previous year in the whole country. Compared with the previous quarter, prices rose by 0.3 per cent.
