Outotec, a technology company, is going to initiate employee cooperation negotiations about a possible reduction of its workforce with its entire personnel in Finland, said the company in a release.

The estimated need for reduction in Finland is approximately 100 employees, said the company.

The reduction measures will be realized in late 2014 and during the first half of 2015. In addition, temporary lay-offs may be used to achieve the targeted savings, depending on capacity utilisation.

The company said it is analysing the resourcing needs and restructuring opportunities in its operations in the country, as part of its global profitability improvement programme targeting a saving of 45 million euros in annual operating costs.

The company employs approximately 1,400 people in the country.
