The number of new passenger cars registered in November this year was 7220, some 3.3 per cent less than in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to Statistics Finland’s data.

A total of 10,648 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 8,228 were automobiles in the month.

In the January to November period of 2014, a total of 163,205 vehicles were first registered as per the data based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.

First registrations decreased by 8.1 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year, the statistics show.  

The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to November period was 99,145, which is 1.7 per cent up from the year before.

The most common passenger car makes first registered during the period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda.

The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 38.2 per cent, the statistics say.
