Positive trends in the world economy will help Finland break free of the recession, economists of the Danske Bank have forecast in a report.

The report, however, said the Finnish economic growth remains fragile for this year and the next.

“We expect the Finnish economy to grow by 0.5 per cent in 2015,” Danske Bank Chief Economist Pasi Kuoppamäki said.

According to the report, the positive trends are reflected in increased production orders and in growing export expectations caused by the weakened euro.

Danske Bank economists see the domestic growth to be burdened by a rise in unemployment, low levels of investment and cuts in the public sector.

“The slow rise in earnings and the cuts listed in the government programme will have a negative impact on the growth of domestic demand in the coming years,” said Kuoppamäki.
