More than half of the Finns are opposed to granting permit for constructing the planned Fennovoima nuclear power plant, reports a survey commissioned by the Finnish Fund of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF Finland), an environmental conservation organisation.
The survey found less than a third of the respondents support the proposed power plant project, while a fifth of them could not tell or did not know their position on the matter.
According to WWF, the government should listen to the citizens and abandon the nuclear power plant project once and for all.
The survey was conducted by Taloustutkimus which interviewed over a thousand people at the beginning of this week. The margin of error was +/-2.5.
