Many Finns consider neighbouring Estonia as a potential place to work and live, according to the Work in Estonia survey.

About 66.4 percent of the respondents were positive towards the idea of Estonia as a new country of residence and working whereas 24.8 percent had a negative attitude.

Estonia is considered attractive because of the low cost of living. Lighter taxation, the urge for adventure and lack of jobs in Finland were other reasons for people to want to live and work in Estonia.

Only one in 10 of the respondents said that they do not believe that they would ever search for work in Estonia. According to the survey, also the Estonian social security had raised doubt among the respondents.

The survey was conducted by Enterprise Estonia (EAS) and recruitment media Duunitori conducted the online survey in April where they interviewed 1,360 people.
