A so-called offshore company's activities take place outside the country where the company is registered.
The Ocra Worldwide Group offers a list of reliable companies which offer offshore banking and the listed companies are those with which Ocra has close cooperative relations.
In addition to Nordea Finland, other recommendations focus on bank tax havens such as the Virgin Islands, the Isle of Man, and London's major banking centres.
Ocra, on its website, said that offshore services are meant for international business planning and asset management and tax planning for family wealth.
According to Nordea's communications department, they have no idea why they are on the recommended list.
“I have looked into this through different branches, but we are not familiar with this operator. Therefore, I cannot say why Nordea's name is on their website,” said Marko Mettenranta of the Nordea communications department.
There are no other mentions of Nordea Finland on the Ocra website. News agency STT has been unable to reach anyone from Ocra for a comment on the matter.
