The number of new passenger cars registered in June 2016 was 10,750, which was 19.7 per cent up from the year before, according to Statistics Finland’s data.

A total of 17,578 new motor vehicles were registered in June, of which 12,281 were automobiles.

 First registrations increased by 13.3 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 32.4 per cent. The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands as per the data based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.

A total of 101,807 vehicles were first registered in the January to June period of 2016, the statistics show.

Compared to the year before, there was an increase of 10.0 per cent.

The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to June period was 65,463, which is 14.7 per cent up from the year before.

The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to June period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda.
