Turnover in service industries grew by 3.4 per cent in June to August from the corresponding time period of the year before, according to Statistics Finland.
In that period, the growth had also reached 3.4 per cent. Once again, administrative and support service activities (+9%) lead the pack.
Professional, scientific and technical activities increased by 8.6 per cent. In information and communication activities, however, the growth only amounted to 0.2 per cent as per the statistics.
Services are here examined exclusive of trade.
In the main industry of administrative and support service activities, the growth came from employment activities (+18.1%) and security and investigation activities (+15.9%).
Renting and leasing activities also developed favourably (+12.3%). In the main industry of professional, scientific and technical activities, research and development showed the strongest growth (+14.8 %), the data show.
Growth was also favourable in other service activities (+5%), where especially repair of computers and personal and household goods (+8.5%) generated growth.
The main industry of transportation and storage activities (-0.8%) decreased most as a result of the 9.6 per cent drop in water transport.
The growth in the main industry of information and communication activities was upheld by information services activities (+7.7%).
