 The foreign minister, Erkki Tuomioja, is leaving Helsinki for Lima  today on a three day visit as part of celebration of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Finland and Peru, said a foreign ministry press release on Monday.

Tuomioja will have bilateral discussion with the president of Peru, Ollanta Humala and his Peruvian counterpart Rafael Roncagliolo during the visit. The Finnish foreign minister will also hold talks with the representatives of local NGOs engaged in human rights and democracy issues.  

The foreign minister will travel to Chile from Peru to attend a meeting of foreign ministers of the European Unions, Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago de Chile on 25 January. The foreign minister is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of the region, the press release added.
