The foreign minister Erkki Tuomioja on Monday expresses his deep regrets for the tragic events that took place in the city of Amenas in Algeria, said a foreign ministry press release.
At least 23 hostages were killed in Algeria by militants, Algerian Interior Ministry said.
The minister Tuomioja in a condolence message underlined that terrorism in all its forms has to be condemned and violence towards civilians can not be justified under any circumstances.
Tuomioja expresses his sympathy and condolences to the victims and their families, as well as to the people and Governments of Algeria and of all those countries Awhose nationals have been affected, the press release added.
