A Finnish national is facing trial in Indonesia for his alleged involvement in assaulting 19-year-old live-in partner last month, reported English online Sun.Star Cebu on Sunday.

According to the report, the accused will face trial after he was charged with a criminal case by the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.

The prosecutor, however, found enough evidence to indict the Finnish citizen for violation of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

.On January 7, the Finnish man aged 36, assaulted his partner as she refused to go with him to a party.

The accused also pushed her to bed and told her that he did not like her anymore, said the report.
