The President, Sauli Niinisto during his maiden visit to Rovaniemi on Wednesday exchanged views with the people of the northern part of the country and appreciated them for their various role on different issues.

The president also address a public rally held at the Lordi Square in the afternoon where he discussed mining, protection of nature, sexual and gender minorities and unployment issues where about one thousand people attended.

The president, in reply to a speaker, Pentti Vierelä said in the rally that there should be some kind of profit sharing basis on the mining issues to maintain the mining business. 

He emphasized to the protection of nature and human comfort

Pentti stenback, who also addressed the rally pointed out the unemployment issues and raised a question why the people, who are less than 25 years ,should not go to school under unemployment benefit.
