The court on Thursday sentenced one person to life term imprisonment for killing two persons with firearms at central Hyvinkää  in May last year.

The convict, Eero Hiltunen, a youth fired gunshots indiscriminately on the streets and a restaurant from a rooftop in downtown Hyvinkää killing two people and wounding seven others in addition to creating threat on 32 people lives. 

The court also ordered the convict to pay the family of the victims EUR 402 000 as compensation.

Hiltunen's lawyer argued that the murders could be considered manslaughter but failed to  explain them from legal ground.

The mental health study said that the shooter understood the consequence of his activities.

Hyvinkään the district court's viewed that it considered the serious danger to the public as a consequence of the acts strongly in addition to  a particularly brutal and cruel murders.
