At least 19 people were killed and more than 300 others injured in over 250 road accidents in different states of Finland in April, reports the Statistic Finland.
 
According to Statistics Finland preliminary data, some 265 accidents took place in April in Finland, leaving at least 19 people dead and 317 injured whereas the number of people killed in accidents in April 2012 was 23 and the number of people injured in April 2012 is 82 less than that of April this year. 
 
The 19 killed in road accidents in April last include 10 car passengers, three motorcyclists, two cyclists, and two pedestrians. Fourteen of them were men and five women. 
 
A total of 1,121 road mishaps involving personal injury occurred in January to April, leaving 64 people dead and 1,460 injured, said the Statistic Finland.
 
The number of people killed in road accidents in the period is 17 less and the number of injured is 299 less than that in the corresponding period of 2012. Of the deceased, 43 were travelling by cars, one by a van, one by a lorry, and three by motorcycles. The number of pedestrians killed is six and that of cyclists is three. In addition, seven other road users were also killed in the accidents.
