Many workers at the Kemira Sastamala plant, a chemicals company, walked out of the workplace before 10am on Monday.
According to Team, the union representing the workers, the walkout was done protesting the company's dictation of personnel policies.
Kristo Korpela, the chief shop steward, said the company had taken a unilateral decision to end profit sharing.
The company's Head of Communications Leena Lie told the STT that a new system would be developed to replace the current reward system.
According to Lie, the move has been met with strong opposition.
About 30 people took part in the protest. They are however expected to report back to work on Tuesday morning.
