Piia-Noora Kauppi not interested to contest

The Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Sector Federation, Piia-Noora Kauppi on Wednesday disclosed that she is not contesting for the post of Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) chair.
 
Kauppi, also a former member of the European Parliament in her facebook account described that she has received numerous requests to participate in the race for party chair but her position is clear in this regard that she would not be a candidate.
 
She also hoped that the President race would be open, deliberative and fair.
 
“It would be in the best interest of Kokoomus, if we could see many good candidates who represent the Party,” she said, adding that gender should not be in any case the deciding factor. 
 
She also said that there are number of excellent female and male candidates.
 
Meanwhile, the member of European Parliament, Sirpa Pietikäinen on Wednesday told Finnish language newspaper Kaleva that she would consider about contesting the post for party chief.
