The opposition Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) is to place a motion of no confidence in parliament following the cuts in child benefits.

The Centre Party does not accept cuts faced by families with children and as a result will present a motion of no confidence in government.

The parliament will vote on the matter on Friday.

The sitting government has currently a very slender majority with 101 seats in parliament.

The Centre Party equates cuts in child benefits as a demonstration of the government’s failure in economic and employment policy.

The government will also vote on equal marriage bill on Friday.
