The tents can be used as a field hospital, support for the delivery of humanitarian aid or accommodation for aid workers, said a press release of the ministry on Wednesday.
The tents are sent as a response to a request for assistance addressed to the EU by Ukrainian authorities.
The European Commission will coordinate the logistics of the assistance and ensure that it reaches its destination in Ukraine.
“With this decision, we want to take part in providing humanitarian relief to Ukraine. In my view, it is extremely important to make absolutely sure that the assistance reaches the civilian population,” said Interior Minister Päivi Räsänen.
