The officers will be selected from Karelia Brigade's Salpausselkä Air Defence Battalion contingent, sources at the Defence Ministry said.
 
In the beginning of last year, the Ministry of Defence decided to purchase Stringer weapon system for the Army. The weapons include infrared shoulder launched missiles, thermal detectors as well as training equipment.
 
The equipments are scheduled for delivery in the period between 2015 and 2018.
 
In addition to acquisition of the equipment, the use of the system requires training and training equipment.
 
The purchase of the new system will be used to partially replace the capacity of phased out over 50-year old technology used in anti-air crafts units.
