A demonstration was held in Helsinki on Saturday demanding the closure of Finnish borders. According to the police, there were about 150 protesters.

The protests were peaceful, but the police later arrested four protesters in Senaatintori (Senate Square).

After the demonstration, the anarchist group A-rhyma (literally “A Group”) took a white bed sheet, reminiscent of the True Finns flag, to the front door of the True Finns office.

According to the group, the sheet was addressed specifically to the party’s parliamentary group’s backing of the aspiring Olli Immonen.

“The purpose of the bed sheet is not to make a joke about racism, but to remind everyone that we have not forgotten Immonen’s declaration of war against multiculturalism,” the group said in a statement.

Meanwhile, counter demonstrations were held on Saturday in support of the immigrants. About 200 people joined the counter-protest in Helsinki who also criticised the government for tightening the immigration rules.

The police fenced off the protesters from one another.
