The Supreme Administrative Court on Wednesday revealed that the Finnish Security Police (Supo) had dismissed a police officer accused of soliciting for sexual partners.

According to the Supreme Court, the police officer in the course of duty was engaged in sexual acts a number of times between April and December 2010.

The security police had earlier interrogated a person who said to have met the police officer accused of engaging in sexual acts during the officer’s time of duty five to 15 times, for example, in a car.

According to the officer’s sex partner, the police officer had other similar relations.

The officer called for the annulment of the dismissal decision on sex addiction grounds. The court, however, said hyper sexuality does not justify negligence of duty.

According to the court, the officer was soliciting for sexual partners and by having sex one could also act in a way which would not have compromised the proper execution of duties.
