A number of people were injured in a brawl in the Oulu district of Toppil in which bladed weapons are reported to have been used.

According to the news agency STT, the fight took place in Toppila kebab restaurant or the nearby area on Monday afternoon. The police were alerted to the scene just before 3.00 pm.

The police said three people were injured by a bladed weapon, but none of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

According to the police, at least four men were involved in the brawl. They are all suspected of assault offences of varying degrees. The police have arrested three men aged around 40 for the crime.

One of the men is still being treated in hospital, but his injuries are not reportedly life-threatening. Three other injured men were given first aid and released from hospital.

The sequence of events is still unclear, and the police are still investigating the case through interrogations and witness statements.

An eyewitness told STT that two Finnish-speaking foreign-looking men arrived at a Teboil service station during the fight. One of the men was injured. The man called for help from the police from Teboil.

The police operation was first reported by the Finnish commercial broadcaster MTV.
