FTimes- STT Report, Jan 19

A man’s body was found in a sawmill owned by the family of Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) lawmaker Teuvo Hakkarainen.

Hakkarainen confirmed the matter to the news agency STT and said the man was a company employee.

Hakkarainen was at the sawmill when the body was discovered. He said he does not know what happened and noted that the police are investigating the case.

According to a Finnish language tabloid, Seiska, the man’s throat had been sliced.

The Hakkarainen family is not suspected of the crime, said the police.

The police have started an investigation into the cause of death and would not reveal any more details.

Finns Party Chair Timo Soini is visiting Brussels and said he was not aware of the case.

“I’m only hearing about this now,” said a clearly shocked Soini when questioned about the case.
